Help me decide on tires

Well my vote goes for Duratracs. I am using this for my car and believe me it works much better then my old ones. I am quite happy with this.

I'll chime in. I just had a set of STT's in a 285/75r16 mounted on my '99, and I love them so far. I only have about 1,000 miles on them, so experience is limited, but here is my review:

Looks - 9/10 Only tire I like better for looks is the Toyo Open Country M/T
Tread - 10/10 I have already had them out in the mud twice, and on a
long trail run Saturday. Grip is exceptional, and they clear very well.
Noise - 7/10 A little bit noisy, but only at 65+, and still not terrible.
Durability - N/A I don't have enough experience yet to give you solid data. But,
they are load range E, and have a sidewall comparable to a 6-ply.

I got them from Discounttiredirect.com I just looked and was surprised how much tires have gone up since the first. They are $305.. UGH thats $1200 for the set... If they are the tires you really want i suggest getting them. You may hate yourself later every time you see a set. Remember the Discounttiredirect has free shipping anywhere and no sales tax. If you wait they may have a deal on goodyears. I ordered these same tires right after thanksgiving and spent under $1100 for the set shipped.

tirecrawler.com has cooper Stt shipped to denver for $1044 They are $240 a piece and then shipping is $100... so not much more. If you wanted MTRs i would say spend the extra

I voted for the Toyo MTs, but that is the only tire in your list that I have experience with. Love them so far.

Its basically between the MT/R's and the Coopers right now. Just really depends on the cash situation.

I've got almost 2 and a half years time and 18k miles on my Duratracs and couldn't be happeir with them. They look good,not everybody and their granma has 'em,solid grip on dry pavement,great hydroplane resistance,good in snow and keeps the rearend under control and even in 2wd they are pretty decent.

Very good tire and a great choice for a daily driver truck and handles off road duties quite well also.

If youre going to do a lot of offroading I'd vouch for the mtr's. My buddy has them and he loves them. They stick to everything and are stout. He actually likes them on the street as well. For me I am going to try the coopers. I drive a lot on the road but my bfg at's are not cutting it offroad. If I was wheeling more than once a month I'd have the mtr's though!
