Bout to purchase my first T4R.

Can't decide which one…

2012
41,500 Miles
Auto power running board

or

2011
30,500 Miles
Fix running boards

Same trim, same color, both 4x4, both clean carfax, appears to be same condition

The 2011 cost 500 more

Well, if you lived in a place that gets any amount of snow I wouldn't touch the one with auto running boards, but you don't so that really has nothing to do with anything. The one thing that strikes me is that $500 is not much to pay for any vehicle with 15000 miles less. Probably the best $500 you will ever spend assuming everything else is equal (running boards to me being a wash). Congrats on your future purchase, I hope it treats you well. Happy wheeling.

I'm with Monkey on that. The auto boards are somewhat cool until some flux capacitor servo stator croaks and you find out it costs $600 if they made it anymore. Which they don't.

Plus 11K miles is probably a years worth of mileage for you for $500. Cheap.

:-)

I think its safe to say that 99% of the guys here get sliders anyway so the running boards are pretty much temporary. Owning a 4Runner and being a member of this board and trying not to mod your 4Runner is pretty much impossible. I thinks its almost easier to walk away from a room full of naked Victoria Secret models on ecstasy.

maybe not but you get my drift. Anyway go for the lower miles. Are they both from Tennessee?

Neither are in TN. Well i decided on the 2012, not because of the boards. I got more pics of the interior and the 2012 was slightly better condition. I drive ~3,500 miles/month for work, so three months of mileage isn't the big a deal. Picking up the check and flying up tomorrow to get it. Pretty excited.

Anything I should look out for?

Just wait until you catch yourself trying to reason with your significant other that Air Lockers are necessary because the groceries are really heavy and your truck needs re-gearing for it.
