help me identify a part please

so I'm doing some work replacing hoses and things, and I need to know what this part is. can anyone help me out? this is drivers side behind the engine somewhere.

it is the engine oil cooler. At some point you will need to replace the O-ring that seals it to the block, but not till it starts leaking.
