Help me identify this part please...

I found this sitting on the engine skid plate after I removed it to change my front diff fluid the other day. I couldn’t figure out from where it dropped.

Looks like just a grommet that was protecting a wire/tube though a penetration. Did you check the firewall just to be safe? This wouldn't just fall off if a tube/wire was in it. I didn't see anything when I looked at the FSM that matched that item.

Lol I posted the exact same question a few months ago. The grommet fits on the nipple on the bottom of the coolant reservoir so it doesn't rattle around/ chaffed against the metal hole it fits into.

Thanks guys. Makes sense since I replaced the reservoir recently. Feel dumb didn’t realize that was the part number, but in my defense I was too busy stripping my front diff fill plug

Not yet, getting a new one today so I’ll try to destroy the old one tomorrow sometime.

If you have a welder, welding a nut onto the stripped part will help out. If you don't you can slot it and use a punch/hammer. Other things you can do is depending on the stripped out condition, you can use a 1/2" OR 3/4" drive to work it out sometimes.

Got the plug out with a hammer and punch kit. Was about to give up after a lot of banging on it, but then I saw it finally break loose. Transmission fluid, filter and cooler to go before all the maintenance is finally done!
