Help Me Identify This Part

I've got a part that I can't identify and need to replace. None of the local auto parts stores have a listing for it. I'll probably have to call the dealership tomorrow but the woman that works the parts counter is a complete idiot and orders me the wrong part more often than not.

See the attached pictures. I pulled my driver's side CV shaft / half axle on my 2004 SR5 V6 4x4. I have a rebuilt one that I bought from Rockauto. There is a seal that sits on the outboard side of the shaft that doesn't come on the rebuilt ones. When I did both of mine on my Tacoma I was able to tap the old ones off and reuse them but this one is shot.

What's it really called? Bonus points for part numbers either OEM or aftermarket (Timkin, National, etc.).

Thank you, but that's not what this is. The link that you posted is the differential output seal. It goes into the open differential and the cv shaft slides through it. It's purpose is to keep the differential fluid from leaking out.

The seal that I'm having a hard time with actually mounts to the opposite side of the cv shaft and butts right up to the inboard side bearing dust shield. That dust shield and this part that I can't identify sort of nestle into each other probably to protect the wheel bearing.
 
It's the outer oil/dust seal, goes on axle and sits against the knuckle correct? Do a quick search you'll find a thread discussing it maybe even part numbers

EDIT: here's a pic I found of someone's oem seals with part #'s. Just double check with the dealership but I'm pretty sure they're correct

Thanks guys.

I think it's odd that neither O'Reilly's or Autozone carry this part. I was behind the counter with the guy at O'Reilly's for half an hour looking at every seal associated with the front end of my truck and nothing he pulled up looked remotely correct.
 
The dealership just told me that that part doesn't exist and I'd have to buy a brand new cv shaft to get one.

Just put that part number into a Toyota parts website and got this

Item #2 is the seal you need and is $25 if you can wait for it for a few days

Ok. I figure that I'll update this post with my final conclusion for anybody that may come across it later.

The part in question is a dust shield. It's not the wheel bearing shield that is pressed into the hub. Instead it is mounted to the outside end of the cv axle and mates to the bearing shield. The wheel bearing shield and this dust shield sort of clamshell together to completely seal out debris from the wheel hub. I'll attach 2 pictures that should make it pretty clear.

O'Reilly's, Autozone, and RockAuto don't carry this dust shield. New CV shafts, whether bought from the dealership or the aftermarket, usually come with this shield. Remanufactured shafts don't come with the shield and I guess that you're supposed to remove the shield from the old shaft and put it on the new one prior to installation. I've done three CV shafts so far on various Toyota trucks and this was the first time that I've damaged one enough that I didn't want to reuse it.

I actually called Cardone and asked them where they got the shields that they put on their new ones. Obviously somebody somewhere makes them if they are being put on newly manufactured units. The guy that I spoke to at Cardone was very sympathetic but all he could really tell me was that 'Yeah. I've run across this problem before.' He didn't have any additional information.

In the end, I did end up reusing it because I already had the CV shaft that I'd bought online. Had I had more time I would have returned it and bought the new Cardone shaft that came with a new shield. I didn't have that kind of time because this is may daily driver.

I know you guys probably think I'm some sort of OCD oddball fretting over a dust shield like this but I like to do things once and then forget about it. I own my vehicles for 10 years or more on average so I don't just write things off as being the next owner's problem. I obviously overthink things as a result.

Oh that shield, lol its plastic and thin correct? I remember now when I pulled my cv axle it fell off the axle and I thought I had to reuse it, luckily the CVJ reman axles I bought had these shields attached, the CVJ axles are identical to OEM except for the actual shaft is green. I also believe in using quality parts on all my vehicles.
