I've done a ton of research and have found these three vehicles that meet my specs (leather and 3rd row, under $25k). Which one would you buy and why?

2011 Black Limited - 80k miles - $22,800

2011 Red SR5 with Leather - 101k miles - $19,900

2011 Red SR5 with Leather - 72k miles - $21,200

The black limited looks to be the best value, but I prefer selectable 4wd as well as the 2014+ body style.

That's not much of a price spread between trucks several trims apart and similar mileage.

The limited seems like the best value and back in 2011 the SR5 and LEs looked very similar.

Easy commute during the week.
Driving back and forth to my farm 60 miles away on weekends. Gravel + dirt driveway.
Some light offroad, but have 4 wheeler for that.

Getting up dirt roads in the winter.

Driving my kids around.
Rarely have all 3 at a time but the smallest in 6 and still fits in the back (with the dog)

If you're in Pot hole hell, then the limited rims might not be the best choice. Still you can swap them out for 17s and they probably have a good resale value on CL or the classifieds here. Also, the spare is the same size rim, so swap that out too.

IMO the 72k mileage SR5 is out - carfax indicates a wreck July '17, which wasn't that long ago. If they're selling it, it likely means the car isn't the same as before - or the price should be priced like the 101k mileage SR5.

On the black limited - I couldn't find a carfax - kind of important.
If the black limited has a Carfax comparable to the red with 101k (single owner, no accidents or issues), I would go for the limited. 20,000 miles difference for $3,000 with way more bells and whistles seems like a good price to me. I would use it as leverage to wiggle the price down as well.

if you are planning to modify your rig in the future, you better purchase SR5 since SR5 has variety options for off roading tires such as KO2 and nitto terra. Otherwise, stick with limited(20inch tires so 2~300more expensive than 17inches and less fuel economy) or consider highlander.

Looks like you've answered your own question ha. I would've went with Limited and looked changes the wheel/tire combo to probably the TRD Pro set. Living in Pennsylvania has always made me wary of large rims/wheels due to the significant amount of pot holes we seem to enjoy haha. Regardless, Carfax shows its worth again. Let us know how things go.

I would say the 2011 4Runner Limited black it has everything.

Also it has the X-REAS suspension system only for LIMITED MODELS

Look I have a 2011 4Runner limited I have it it runs excellent and it waste the same gas mileage as the sr5. I also I drove from Los Angeles to El Paso and next day El Paso to Zacatecas , Mexico. I guaranteed you won’t have any issues when drives up hill and high speed. You may also drive any road even mountains.

Ah that stinks! Then my vote is for the 101k mile SR5. Not even a halfway broke in truck!

or you could always wait for a lower mileage one, I think it all depends on your budget/wants/needs.

Here's another. SR5 with 84k miles, clean carfax

And another Limited for $22,800 with a "Accident reported, Minor damage reported" on the carfax from 2012. How do y'all feel about vehicles with minor incidents in the past?

Those 3 are much better options. I personally don't like to buy cars with accidents because you can't guarantee the work was done correctly, and the car's value is diminished from the get-go. That being said, the price of that Limited is pretty darn excellent, especially considering the SR5 is more expensive with more miles, although 2 years newer. Have you decided whether you'd prefer the SR5 or the Limited? There is quite a variant in the bells and whistles included on the Limited over the SR5.

Just remember that Carfax is what is reported....I had a Prius about 4 years ago, the only thing that showed up on the Carfax was when someone hit me and drove off so I had to contact the police. What didn't show up? My step daughter backing into it and had to replace the front quarter panel AND when a lady pulled in front of me when it was two weeks old and the entire front bumper hand to be replaced AND lastly-I hit a huge chunk of metal in the road and they had to remove the entire engine to do the repairs.

So in my opinion Carfax is the tip of the iceberg it doesn't mean too much if it was never reported.

I do like the limited, but prefer grey over white...choices.

I can't help you there, I bought a Mag grey 2018 and LOVE it :bump2: If color was any deciding factor, I would buy white over black, but grey over all of the ones you posted. Helps that it's one of the lowest mileage, cleanest ones you posted.

Liking this one. One minor accident in 2013 when it was brand new. Single vehicle, front impact, hit maintenance equipment, per Carfax.

Flexible on the price is key. He's not out of his mind on the price, but the damage on it definitely lowers the value IMO. Its a good option, but if you think if you were patient you might find a better one, you should wait. Don't settle with a $20k purchase. Been there, done that, expensive cars are a pain to sell when you figure out what you actually want
