Let me know what you guys think. Most of the ones around here are stock and going for $5-6K so I was thinking of asking $7500.
I will post it here first once I know if I'm going to sell it or not but I will also post on craigslist as well.

+1 with $8000.

What are you replacing it with? Are you going to follow Elton down the same path?

I am on the selling fence. My goddaughter's father is selling his 05 GX 470 before December. Not even 100,000 miles. I will probably be able to get it under $15,XXX. But that means selling the 4runner. Unless I get that bonus, probably not.

Wont get any arguements from me on $8000 :jump:

I would like to keep it but I don't use it to its capabilities and I think I would be happier driving something else for the time being. Not sure I want to say what I'm thinking of replacing it with lol.

I should know within the next 2 days wether or not I will be selling it so if anyone is interested or knows someone looking, keep me posted.

Not to low ball you, but 8K is crazy. Your truck is all shiny and whatnot so maybe you can squeeze that out of someone. I have to play the devils advocate on this one.

I honestly think $5500 is probably a fair price for a 14 yr old vehicle with 200k miles. I know it has 35's but it hasnt been re-geared, It doesnt have lockers. It doesnt look like its been clearanced for the 35's so if someone take it out and wheels it they will end up thrashing the firewall, front fenders, rear bumper and rear quarter panel.

The lift doesnt really add too much for a re-sale

The paint is jacked up. I know its not your fault its the color (my gf's carolla in the same color did the same thing) But still to fix that it needs a pint job.

You did the required maintenance, but thats part of keeping it on the road so I wouldnt say that adds value.

Its got a good stereo, but then again if you want money out of that remove it and sell it. It has an alarm and remote start, and the HID's should be a big MINUS!!! LMAO thanks for the glare by the way

So all in all I wouldnt pay more than $5500 for it. But i think a lot of people dont analyze a purchase like that and it looks good so hopefully someone falls in love with it and buys it for 8K

Im really not saying you have a bad truck or anything. Just be honest. Im honest with my self and have really thought about what my truck is worth. I love my 4runner but if someone offered me 8K for it (97, f+r locked, manual trans, lifted, winch, f+r bumpers, ect.)you could have the keys

ALot of it is true, but if stockers and salvage titles up here are going for $5K I think $7K isn't too bad. THat was just my thought process.

Ohh yeah. Dude your going to get more than 55oo for it. Im shocked by the prices i see. I guess i got a "good deal" on mine. Its a 97 and i bought it from the Original owner, clean title. It had 150K i got it in 2006 for 7K

But i see stuff that old with way more miles go for 7K today. Its just crazy!!!

I guess its good for those of us that own one =) I wish the best for your sale!

I sold my super clean, mildly modded '99 SR5 with 193K on it for $7500. When I say super clean, it was literally like new. If I were you, I'd start at $8K and let it go in the mid $7's. GLWS, good looking rig.

Being in Oregon you can probably get ~7k for it. The 35's will win someone over, but J-money has a lot of good points about your 35's and off road capabilities. Hopefully you don't sell it, but good luck if you do.

Plus you just put a timing belt/H20 pump and more on it. Usually that has little impact, but if the right person is looking at it, then they be able to take that into consideration.

Good luck, and keep us informed. Like J money said, I am amazed how much $$$ the 3rd gens can still get.

If you were in Hawaii you would probably be able to sell it for $8k easy...but then again Hawaii loves Toyotas and the prices for used trucks reflect that.

I'm just hoping that when I figure if i'm selling it or not that it doesn't take forever for someone to actually buy it. That would be my luck.

Anyway, it sounds like I might be getting the other vehicle so it this might be for sale tomorrow evening or the weekend

i would say ask 7500 and hope for 7 tops, but that's because i'm from the pnw and 4runners are very expensive here. i don't know about your area, these pricing questions are really kind of a local thing as prices vary from region to region , i mean just check out much it costs for used subie outback with a wag more bark less sticker on it goes from here in seattle or oregon, the sandal wearing starbucks drinking pseudo hippy/hipsters freaking love those things in my area so the price is jacked up a good 20% then say texas where pick-up are preferred (generalization there but you get the drift)

but yeah 180k, fading paint and mods 6.5-7k is fair all around, considering 1k at least for a paint job....(who wants to drive a 7k truck with a bad paint job? 2.5k maybe but anything over 5k needs to look half way nice, imo)

ya id start of 7500 and post it all over oregon ive seen it in person other than small paint issue its clean

Thanks for all the help guys. I think I will start at $7500 then but stay pretty firm on that. I'm not going to decline to sell it over a few hundred $ but i"m also not going to drop it to 5K right off the bat.

As for what I'm getting........gonna pull the trigger on an 07 BMW 335i. Ive got a lot of mixed reviews and as many people who love bmw's just as many hate them so hopefully I wont get flamed too hard for it. Its only got 40K on it, fully loaded with cold weather package, sports package, nav and lets not forget 300hp/300tq twin turbo :naughty:. Also comes with a 4yr/75K miles bumper to bumper warr so I'm not too worried about the high pressure fuel pump issues they have, plus those have a 10yr/120K mile warr anyway.

That's a sweet car, and you will love it. Only issue with the bimmers (or any german car) is maintenance cost once the get miles on them, and are out of warranty. You know this already though. When I sold my 2006 GTI and bought my first 4runner, it was such a relief to know that even pretty major parts were cheap. But I loved the GTI and want another one. :)

The 335 is a nice car, no doubt about it. My GF's father has one plus an old 850i. Smooth engine and gearbox, no doubt about it. His wife has the X3 in the sport M package, the only way to go if one buys an X3.

As with all German cars, their electronics can be just downright frustrating to work on. I always tell folks to balk at extended warranties, except on German cars. Otherwise I am just sounding jealous. The good thing is there are many good independent BMW shops that do good work on Bimmers, at least there are near DC.

Post some pics when you take receivership of it, along with Elton driving it.
