Help me spend my Money

ok, I have been looking (pics only)at a 2000 SR5 with 117k, 5 speed, rear locker for 6k. not my favorite color, but that is not that big of deal. I will have to add a roof rack (stock or after market cause it has neither, not even the plastic caps) hitch, but that is about it.
I have not seen the rig in person cause its in TX at the moment,but will this weekend and getting it checked out by a mechanic. the locker is a cool feature for sure. but the super charger, lift is nice too.

or a 97 super charged runner. more money, but has everything I would want to do to a runner at this time. curious about the dipping of the block and such stated in the add.

and of course I am limited on funds cause I am a college student. any help would be much appriciated for this is my first 4runner.

by the way I am in Montana and the 97 is in OR. the 00 is coming to me from TX, but I would have to travel to OR to see the 97.

Something doesn't seem right with the '97, "motor has 70k was took down to block and block was hot tanked,and heads, and every other piece possible, new clutch, flywheel, all gaskets possible, head gaskets too! the motoor is basically new it has only 1 oil change since the rebuild so thats only 3k miles"
Not sure about that.
Oh, and the hot tank is just a cleaning method.
 
i was thinking about that too. confused me too. i wonder why the break down after 150 miles. i mean its a toyota they are good for many more miles. unless something was wrong.
i have ready that having a super charger is fun and great to have, but limits your longevity. or at least adds maint. there a mileage time frame for them?

Go for the 2000 and spend the extra 3k on a supercharger and lift. It has less miles, the 99+ upgrades and you shouldn't be worried about the engine. Superchargers can be bought for 1k and a lift can be bough for 1k and then all you need is tires.
 
That aint no stock 97, that has a 98+ steering wheel, 99+ bumpers, 99+ sport hood, and limited cladding, 01+ tails, 99 grill.
 
thanks, those things are down the road. the bad is I will need to get tires soon after buying it. MT winters need good tires so after dropping 6k to buy it I have to turn around and buy new tires I think . which sucks, but if the rig is worth it then oh well.

thanks for opinions.

are the 99-00 upgrades that good and mostly inside. motor is the same right?
