Help me think this through...

I've been looking for almost a month now for an 05/06 that's 4wd and for the life of me can't find one here in Pensacola. Florida is struggling when it comes to 4x4's and being from Colorado Im having trouble even considering a 2wd...

Am I right in saying no way to a 2wd.... I know I'll never use 4wd here in florida and I won't be wheeling it... I just have trouble getting use to the idea of gettin a 2wd.

Are 2wd's even worth considering? Other than being less expensive is there any other reason why it wouldn't be a bad idea? Maybe better MPG's??

What do you guys think? give in to the 2wd... I really can't wait any longer my wife needs a vehicle and it's got to happen this weekend. Hopefully a 4wd will show up here in the next few days... otherwise I may have no choice.

Any thoughts are appreciated...

I think you'll be happy with ANY 4runner you get. I ended up getting a 4wd but seriously considered a 2wd.

Good luck and welcome!

imo, if its for ur wife only, & she/u are not looking/considering 4wd as a must, maybe an 08+ highlander would be a better choice

I have 2WD and so far it has served me well. I have been to mild off-road places with gravel/mud,uneven train and was pleased how it handled. If driving mostly in city then 2WD is good (even 4WD folks drive in 2WD mode)

I am however looking for 4WD for (if needed) purpose. Though I never needed 4WD since I had 4R, but may be because I kept myself out of placed it would be needed.....and now I dont want to keep myself out. :D

2wd will serve you perfectly well. But I do hope that a 4wd will pop up for you soon. Since it is a big investment, you should get something you really want. Maybe try to convince the wife and yourself to be a little more patient, for the possibility of a 4wd.
