Hi,
I have a ’97 4Runner Limited that I’ve owned since Dec ’96. In Feb ’11, I had the original engine replaced at 257K miles, with a ’98 engine at 101K miles. After some debate, I plan to keep the 4Runner after all, but need help from experienced folks to help and work with me through some maintenance and repairs that I'm for. Here’s what I’m looking to do:
- Replace Valve Cover Gasket
- Replace Head Gasket
- Replace IAC Valve/Removing TB
- A/C Leak Diagnostics and Repair
- Replace Suspension
- Replace Spark plugs
Unfortunately, because the car has truly been amazing and problem-free up until just a few months ago, I have gained no car-maintenance/repair experience nor any tools (though I would like to invest in some with some suggestions). I’m not looking for some to just do the work while I wait/sit around (though that would be cool too)… rather, I’d like to get my hands dirty too with someone familiar/experienced working with car issues to help and work with me through it. I’m wondering if there’s anybody around the Washington, DC/Northern VA/MD area that would be interested to help me with some of these issues above? I love my 4Runner, she's gotten me through a lot, and now I need to give some lovin' back... lol.
