Help needed regarding getting Sirius to work!

I'm hoping someone has figured this out. I have a Sirius receiver. I did the manual install (the cheapy window mount unit) in an 04 4Runner with a JBL 6 disk changer. Sirius activated the account, the unit seems to be working properly but I am not yet able to get the static station to sync so that I am hearing the Sirius channels. I think I'm needing to find something equilivent to an input button on a TV remote to tell the radio to recognize the receiver. I have tried various static stations, all the instal troubleshooting tips they give, everything- I'm convinved it is something I need do to to the car radio, not the Sirius receiver. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

What type uint are you installing?

Some have built in FM module were some need a seperate unit.

Ok pretty simple unit.

Few things to look at.

have you tried several differant stations?

It should also have a output signal strength i forget correct term but you should see it in the menu.

I am actually deabating on getting this same thing sicne DEI has not coem out with the new PAN1 mudule fordirect hook up.

I know on the sportster there is actually a wire you plug in back for antena it does not go anywere reallyjust lays inside your dash to get the signal. it was about 10-12 inches long.

yep, tried a bunch of different stations.. I haven't noticed anything about the signal strength but will check for that. I know I'd love it if I could just get the darn thing to work.

Also look to see if you need the antenna wire. I had the sportster in my Dodge didn't need the wire but in wife's honda i had to use it.

I couldnt tell online if its required or not.

Also mye whant to try getting a portable radio in there to try out. make sure the issue is the radio and not the sat unit.

the antenna is plugged in, it is running from the roof in through the back along the floor and plugs in to the back of the unit. They had me try to plug and unlpug but it didn't make any difference. It will work with a portable? That interesting, I'll try that. Thanks.

I know this dumb comment please forgive me.

Make sure the radio and the sat unit are on same exact stations.
I instaleld this for father in law and he chaged the stations on it some how and complained next day it didnt work anymore.

Ok I may be a big dummy but can you do me a favor, look at the pdf you just sent me, look at page 11, ok now I have the antenna pulled in to the antenna port, but which of those other ports is the other end of the power source supposed to go in to? the one that one side goes to the cigarette lighter, which of the ports does that go in to?? I wonder if I have it in the wrong one. It may be that simple... I am so grateful for your help with this!!

From what i can tell pretty simple antena is a unique plug only 1 hole to use same with power. The other 2 are interesting.

1 Is for the antenna i was talking about above.
The other Is for hard plugging right into an Aux port on your radio.
