Help needed with rear shock choice!

Hey guys,

As many of you know, I got myself some 8 wrap LC coils for the rear of my 4Runner.

I'm just curious what you guys with 8 wraps are running for shocks? I've currently got some 2.5" Skyjacker lift shocks in the back. Will those work?

I went to the Stealership today to price out some new LC Shocks, they wanted $60 to $70 bucks each for them! I don't know how they sleep at night!!!!

You can get SK nitros for $34 ea and to be safe you could prob. get mount to mount measurements from another board member with the same # of wraps and get exactly the shock you need. Ive got nitros but going with Bilsteins next as soon as i can get my hands on LC coils

I'm running Tokico Trekmaster R/Ts, basically just the stock rear shocks for the LC.

those are N8022's but same exact ext/collapsed measurements as the N8055's.only thing different in that and N8055's is the eye bushing is slightly different

Stock shocks are roughly 20-21" extended so that would work fine. Really depends on if the coils are worn but if you get no more than 3.5" or so youre good. Im going to buy my LC coils and give them a few days to settle and then measure to see what size shock i need.

I just got Tokico Trekmasters for a '95 Landcruiser for $81 shipped for the pair from autoanything.com. Their site lists them at ~$50 ea., but I found them earlier at discountautoshocks.com for $35 ea. + $11 shipping - only they were out of stock. Autoanything went online while I was on the phone with them and went to discountautoshocks.com site and matched the price for me. Try them out, you won't find new ones cheaper.

The part # you want is GE4095.

I saw Sonoran is selling Tokico Blacks for the system 1.2. Does anyone know what those are.

Those are the actual stock OEM shocks that came on 90s FJ80 Landcruisers. I did extensive research on the difference of the blacks vs. the Trekmasters and could find no difference except the Trekmasters have a plate on the front of them for rock protection. Lengths are the same, but couldn't find valving info on the blacks so I assume they aren't much if any different.
