HELP!!, new to the forum

Hey guys, im new to the forum, i own a 1997 Limited Toyota 4runner this was the replacement for my last 2 4runners,(1990,1991) sr5. This is my baby, but today we had a heavy snow fall and my 4wheel drive wouldnt engage,no sounds dont even feel likes it trying to. when i looked at the dash for the 4wheel drive light it wasnt there or even flashing jus blank. tired stopping engage and disengage, tried putting it in neutral, nothing. So im stuck 2wheeling it in the snow today:driving:, fun but not practical lol. i changed the oil this past sunday jus wondering if i probally pinched to unplugged a vac line to the 4x4 mechanism? :happens:but then i had used the 4wheel system wensday night.. what does it seem like i would probally be able to look @ it tommorow but wondering where to start. I also checked the fuse for the 4wd (20a) hoping that was it,but it wasn't blown:wtf:

I had a problem with my 4wd, it ended up being electrical my push button did not work

If there is a little vaccum leak, you can try to rev up the engine. My old 98 had the same problem, but a few revs and it engaged. Never got around to actually fixing the problem though.

Thanks for all the help guys but as i dropped my girlfriend home last night, i tried it again....the road was clear and it worked flawlessly......but stil wondering what would the problem be any ideas?

Sometimes the actuator gets clogged with water and debris. Try to see if it needs cleaning.
