I'm doing an OME/Bilstein lift on my 4runner and I'm having issues with no spring compressor method. I'm familiar with the process as I just did this on my wife's 4th gen with stock springs and 5100.

I set the perch to the highest setting on the 5100's and put the OME 885 on. I can't compress the spring because of how tall it is on the highest 5100 setting. When I try to Jack it up it's at an odd angle and won't go up straight

I was told I would get 3" of lift with this setup and I assumed it would be 5100 highest setting gets 2" and the spring adds additional 1". From reading around I found someone said "dont preload the OME springs"? Am I doing something wrong?

thats because the 885 alone is a 3" lift on a 4runner. so you need to put the 5100 on the lowest setting. I use 2883's on the lowest setting for 2"

Duh:frusty: I just moved it the very bottom setting (normal or stock height) and it went on with ease.
