Help ! Noise coming from driver side front

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this noise . It only seems to happen when the ac is on with the ac button pressed so I am assuming it has somthing to do with the compressor.
You can hear the noise at 13 seconds and again at 20 seconds

I've heard hums and 'moans' from the expansion valve before, usually not long after turning the A/C on, as the refrigerant first starts flowing though the system. But that's more on the passenger side.

You could try starting the car, letting it idle, then turning on the A/C and standing up by the engine to get a better idea of where the sound is coming from.

The noise is in fact coming from the passenger side , but it only makes the noise when ac button is pressed . I will try to do what you said to get an exact idea.

A/c is cool but not freezing cold . Been like that for a while it’s usually fine but when it’s high summer temps and the sun is beating down on the car it doesn’t feel cold enough

4runners have among the coldest of a/c I've ever experiences in Any auto, your's should too, suspect it is low and that could be the cause of the odd noise. On the hottest of days in austin (over 105) mine can be standing still and will still get so cold you've got to turn the fan down.

So do you see lots or very little bubbles in sight glass on a warm day, with engine & a/c already well warmed up?

If lots, I'd add some refrigerant just to the point bubbles are very little or do it the right way with gages and such.

I agree with adding more refrigerant, that's $20 and the best way to start. Those DIY kits also come with a pressure gauge so you know it's correct. Is it just me, or is the vibration enough to actually shake your phone?

Any resolution to the hissing sound?

Or just living with it?

ItÂ’s definitely the ac pressure valve

I just changed my evaporator and pressure valve also getting way more hissing than before.
