help! oil spill in car!

about 4 quarts of used oil spilled in the back. whats the best way to clean the carpet?

your best bet would be to get a highly concentrated stain remover, soak the stain, and extract it with something like this http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5774675

make sure you let it dry really well or else it will get moldy back there. Motor Oil is a toughy good luck

Your rear carpet is actually seperate from the rest of the truck, you could pull it out and work on it out of the truck.

It's pretty easy to do. You could then really soak the carpet, I would use oxiclean, or some other sort of strong degreaser. I dont' think you'll entirely get it out if it was straight on the carpet.


Other option, look for a used carpet from a wrecked truck and swap it out. Since it is only the rear floor it could be easier.

let me know how that handheld cleaner does. I have been looking for a great steamcleaner to clean my other car. I had it since 2003 and it could use a good steam clean....

Anyone else know of a decent steam cleaner for autos???

Hopefully priced under 75-100 dollars.

probably the best idea, it never crossed my mind. It shouldnt be too expensive as it is seperate from the front & small
