Help on installing black sr5 flares

I just bought some sr5 fender flares from a junk yard. I need help figuring out how to install them. My front comes with holes that I believe matches up with the flares but the rear seems to have no holes or anything. Ebay sells a splash guard with fender flare holes but not sure if that works. They guy I bought them off of gave me screws and washers that came with them.

SR5 Flares

Did you order new Flares?
what part #s I'm ordering a custom bumper and I want to replace the flares now so they match up with the bumper.
I looked at some used limiteds but I never really liked that look, and I don't want to drill holes.
If the SR5 flares can be installed with the factory holes of my base ones, thats what I'm looking for.
thanks,

I'm actually doing the same thing. I'm picking mine up this afternoon. I was under the impression that they screwed into the holes that were already there.

There were 4 trim options for the 3rd Gen 4runners. There are four levels of flares: no trim, chrome trim, black plastic flares and wide Limited painted flares. Base models could have no trim, chrome trim or plastic trim (I believe) and SR5 models could have any of these four by at least some point between 1996 and 2002, and Limited models had only the "Limited" style flare, which was the widest of all the flares. The SR5's went to wider flares in 00 when they did away with the narrower version. That being said, all models should be equipped and able to mount flares. If not, Toyota would of had multiple versions of the same parts for flare and flareless 4runners.

all 3rd gens have the provisions. i had the back and chrome moldings and bought a set of the bigger black SR5 highlander style flares from PBR, the bolted/screwed right into the same places the chrome and black moldings attached at. all 4runners had the loops on the inside of the fenders for these, even if they had no flares -they mount into some of the same holes that the fender liners mount to.

Thread bump, does anyone know if the highlander type flare will cover the holes left from the SR5 type flares. Or does anyone with the highlander flares care to take top to bottom measurements so I can try and find out. Thanks

I can measure out what you need tomorrow, and even send some pics if needed.

You mean the black plastic flares? These were available on base and SR5's btw.

I feel like I remember someone saying that these do not cover the holes left by the widebody SR5 flares.

Thank you sir.

The black skinny-ish yet tall flares that were offered on a lot of the highlanders from 96-00? Not the skinny chrome but the ones beyond that. I hope they cover the holes haha but I guess we'll see
