Help on my 99'

I just bought a black 99' SR5. I want to make it good for 4-wheeling, yet i'm still on a budget. Does anybody have any ideas on what i should do. I was thinking a 3" suspension lift, bull bar, light rack, and a roof rack. Is there anything else i should do first?

2 inches of body lift if the budget is to tight, you can mount lights to the roofrack as well.

Personally I would recomend trying out some trails you can do stock. As you start to gain more skill and push your rig you can then adress what you find to be its shortcomings. If you are truly on a budget why waste money on a roof rack and light bar? You can fit a high lift and oversize spare tire in the back along with other recovery gear you may need. Lights can be mounted to the bumper or your new bull bar. For the bar I say go with a TJM bumper as opposed to a brush guard style, they offer more protection and allow you to approach steeper obstacles. And if rocks are in your future look into sliders so as not to destroy your lower body panels.

Is the usual maintenance up to date on your new purchase since fluid changes along with a few other things is money well spent?

Mine does quite well with it's stock taller coils (which you most likely have too) off road but a couple more inches would go along ways and some sliders.

Do you have the rear diff lock?
