help on picking a new lift for the runner

2003 4 runner... right now i have 2.25" coil spacers on the front and a 1" coil spacer on the back... its not near high enough to get the look im looking for when i origionaly lifted it... im a very picky guy and i cant stand how it looks.. because the fronts noticibly higher than the back and honestly to me it looks tacky... id like to get that origional rake back but just a tiny bit of rake.. i know the kits they make are like 2"/1" or 3"/2" or 3"/3" but i still see the same problem in peoples pictures.. that the backs lower than the front...

ive drew out some pictures and did some math and kinda decided what ever kit you do you need to at least go 1/2" over what the heigth of the front lift. anyone with me ?

idealy id like to go with 2" lift coils and put my origional coil spacers on top of that for 4" lift in the front

then in the back go with a 2 or 3" lift coil and use my 1" coil spacer on top of that with new shocks all the way around.

any thoughts of different ways of staggering the stance so that the backs a tad higher than the front on a bigger lift?

Read some posts from IronCladLou. He went through a similar thing. He's not quite as high as you want but his 2/2 looks great!

I can see how a 2/1, 2.5/1.5 or 3/2 doesn't look right, especially with some gear and a trailer. Starting from 2/2 or 3/3 retains the stock rake just higher.

4" in total lift for the front is quite a bit. Anything over 3" usually requires new upper control arms. They are necessary to have enough adjustment range to get the alignment right.

Depending on how much money you want to spend you could always get toytec adjustable coilovers for the front.

I've read that anything over 3" in the front will cause premature CV wear.

Also, depending on your budget, you may want to consider the Overland Warehouse setup. I believe it's 3" in the rear, and coilovers in the front (1"-4").

edit: one more thing...anything more than 3" in the front and you'll also want to consider UCA's to get some caster back.
 
I installed the TRUXX 905099 3" front & 1.25" rear lift for the XREAS suspension. Includes the drop for the front differential. The front CV joints are basically level at this height.

The first time my wife rode in it, she said it rides better than the same shocks/coils at stock height. I agree. Simple to install and results in a level stance.

Billf6531, Do you have any pictures of yours with the Truxx kit installed. I have the same concerns with regards to the back end looking lower than the front. Where did you buy your Truxx lift?
 
Hey, guys. I am in Ottawa and trying to figure out the best way forward to lift /level my '05 Sport.

I am thinking either Daystar or Truxxx 3' pkg.

Finding a good mechanic is proving another issue...

Any advice or recommendations is appreciated.
