Help picking a carpet glue

So the 2"x3" thin plastic foot rest came unattached from my floorboard. It's where your foot rests when you aren't braking.

I've tried to use hot glue to reattach, but it came right back off.

I'm looking for glue suggestions. I'm sure Gorilla glue would work, but my experience is that it expands and I don't want that crap seeping out, cause once it's on the carpet it's in there for good.

I never had good luck reattaching mine and never did. Look for something by 3m as they make good products. Maybe a two part epoxy....

I'd say gorilla glue. You know it expands, so plan ahead and use less of it, focusing towards the center and real light amounts set back from the edges.

You should be able to razor blade off any overage one dry fairly easy to make it look decent.

Liquid nails...comes in toothpaste type tubes as well...I’ve had good luck with carpet...
Clean excess with soapy water or mineral spirits immediately...

I’d maybe try one of 3m’s fabric glues, make sure and follow directions. You spray the glue on both sides and let it set up a bit before mating the surfaces.
