Help, Please - OME Lift Ready, Am I Missing Anything?

After months of waiting around and piecing together a lift, i'm finally done. Here's exactly what I have...

OME 884
Front OME Lift Coils - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits

Toytec Rear RCC2.0
ToyTec "Superflex" rear Coils (FJ & 03-09 4Run - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits

FJ Shocks

Toytec Top Plate Spacer Kit
Front Top Plate Spacer Kit - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits

(4) All-Pro 1.25" Wheel Adapters + ET Lug Nuts
Toyota Wheel Spacers

So, is there anything else that i'm needing?

I've searched and read countless threads about installs over the last 3 months and have most of them bookmarked, but is there any potential problems I should be aware of? Any problems with VSC/Trac Control/Check Engine lights coming on?

Just trying to get a heads up before I take on the install...this is my DD and won't have down time. Planning on taking an entire day, starting as early as possible.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Toytec lifts

Toytec has them too but I couldn't find them on the site...

Sorry about that.
I just emailed the office about that.
OME Trim Packer - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits

Will still work for your generation.

The only think I see your missing, is longer shocks. The stock shocks work, but still limit your performance. (edit: FJ shocks? How much longer stock to stock are they?)

Other than that, all looks good.

Is that 5mm trim packer a popular product? Is the lean that noticeable to buy one? I am looking at doing this similar setup and have heard of the packer kit- but was curious as to if it was necessary

As I read the description again it may not work without OME shocks. It sounds like the OME shock may be constructed to accommodate them but regular shocks won't work work w/ the trim packer. Hopefully Darrick will chime in but if not give it a try and be the first to tell us:D It's 8$ and you're in this far already... Knowing that OME says all of their springs should be used with OME shocks I'd give it a try... Even the experts, ToyTec, will sell 884's to be used with stock shocks. (Once you get to the 885's they recommend different shocks.) OME recommends all of their springs use their shocks; I suspect the same may be true for the trim packer.

r3dh3ad84, some claim the lean drives them crazy, others claim the lean doesn't bother them. It's a personal preference thing to me. I don't think from an operational standpoint it matters much. Most seem to say it's a little less than .5"-.75".

When I do mine, I am using the Toytec differential drop kit to keep things in that region aligned.

I have no idea how much longer they are, through a lot of searching I just found that FJ owners were having good results from using their stock shocks...whereas 4Runners were not, so I just figured there was a difference in shock length lol

Anyone know how I can find that information??

If the lean is really as bad some say it is, i'll order one of these guys. When it all goes on, i'll be updating this thread and maybe starting a build thread...the mod bug is getting me...

Front Top Plate Spacer (One - 1/4") - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits

When I do mine, I am using the Toytec differential drop kit to keep things in that region aligned.

The more I read on this, the more I found it's really unnecessary. It's been measured to really only drop the differential by 5/8's of an inch, which is pretty much nothing. If you go over on Toyota120 you can find a lot of input on this subject and 99.9% of the members have straightforward facts proving it doesn't do much...if anything.

Just what I found, not to discredit anything you may have found...thanks for the reply though.

Here's my question... I don't plan on getting a steel bumper and do light loads in the rear. Should I get the OME 884 and superflex rear coils? or go with a medium duty OME 885 and OME 895 setup in the rear?

I don't want to be bouncing all over- but also I don't want a leaning "top heavy" feel as well- or sag in the rear with people or a load in the back.

Anyone have suggestions or input?

What is considered 'light loads' for you? and how often?

The superflex coil is a 10% over stock capacity coil, so it will help to hold a little additional weight. The problem with the 895's are they might be just a little to stiff with no loads on them, but perform well with loads.
Hence the question of how often.

Sort of comes down to personal preference, would you rather be more comfortable most the time, or still have a coil that is designed to take some weight, or have a rough ride without load, and then great performance with a load.

I don't think you would feel like the superflex coils will result you a 'top heavy' feel. I haven't heard that complaint.

Hope that helps,

You seem to have parts that do not match ..
I would reccomend by a complete kit from ONe Mfg.
the reason being Is That the spring / Shock kits are designed to work together, That way You get the proper DAMPING from the Shock and the Correct SPRING Rate. Pieces that were designed to work together. Mixing Front Coils Of One MFG. and Rear Coils from a Diff. MFG and Putting Shocks On that are For a Diff. Vehicle and not designed to work with the two different sets of springs may cause some unequal performance from your suspension thus altering ride.
I Use OME heavy / heavy and have Several hundred pounds Of Bumpers and winch etc. and its nice and balanced on off road . Just a thought.

I agree 100%, BUT...I didn't have $800 to spend and figured piecing it together for now would be better than a spacer or body lift, right? The shocks are going to eventually be replaced with OME shocks once a little more money comes in. (hopefully within the next 2/3 months) The FJ shocks, while not ideal, have been used a lot with 884's by a lot of FJ owners with no bad reports. If I had 885's I wouldn't even been giving it a shot.

Also, I won't be doing anything like "mudding", rock climbing, etc. Purely for a little more clearance on the trails during trips and it's time for new tires.

Thanks for your input, nice rig for sure.
