Help please regarding tail lights from new member

I have a 2006 4Runner and just replaced the housing for the rear driver-side lights. The lights worked before, but the housing was cracked. After reconnecting everything, only the brake/parking lights worked, the turn signal and reverse lights did not work. I reinstalled the old housing to check if the new one was bad, and the same thing happened, only the brake/parking light worked.

Is it safe to guess I somehow did some damage to the wiring connections, since there was nothing wrong originally. Is there some sort of common mistake I made? Is there some sort of reset to hit? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked your fuses? If you accidentally touched the wires together when hot then you'd blow a fuse. Not sure which one it'd be on a 2006 though, but start with the fuse box near the steering wheel. Burnt fuses will be discolored and the fusible link broken.

You should have a 7443 bulb which is a double filament bulb that controls stop and turn . Have you checked if one of the filaments Broke off? Stop would still work but turn would not if that's the case .

Thanks for the advice but it must be something else...

I checked the fuses, and none are blown. I have also changed the bulbs, but that didn't help either. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks again.

hi ive had similar problems before, it could be one of your fuses that is sending the power to those couple of lights . check all the fuses under your steering wheel on the left and then check all the fuses inside the engine compartment to check if they are still hot if not replace the fuse and it might give you power.
