Has anyone else had this problem? I have a 2007 V8 Limited. At 2,364 I had the alignment checked by Mark Morris Tires (Firestone). They discovered that the front left (driver's side) SAI and Included Angle is outside of the specified range (19.0 degrees for the SAI and 18.7 degrees for the Included Angle). These specs are also substantially different from the right (passenger side) SAI and Included Angle (12.9 degrees for the SAI and 12.2 degrees for the Included Angle).
The specs on the right side are within the specified range.
Mark Morris Tires told me that they do not adjust the SAI and Included Angle and that it is a dealer matter.
I contacted the dealer and they initially said that the matter needed to be reviewed by a Toyota Factory Rep and they would call me with an apptmt. After three weeks, no one called, so I called them. The Service Advisor told me that the specs are off because of a potential bad check by the Mark Morris tech. and that their alignment machine was probably inaccurate. The Service Advisor further told me that the SAI and Included Angle does not affect driveability and that it is not a safety issue.
From what I have read about SAI and Included Angle, it is my understanding that when the specs are off that this is usually due to a bent or damaged part in the suspension system. To me this is a potential safety issue and does in fact affect the driveability of the vehicle.
I am concerned that not only is the right side substantially off from the specified range, but that it is also substantially different from the left side.
What does everyone think about this?
