help removing 3rd brake light lens on an 04

I bought an aftermarket spoiler with a 3rd light built in. I want to take off the factory 3rd brake light lens thats on the car now. I want to disconnect it so it no longer works and also paint the lens to match the color of the car. Anyone know how to take the lens off?

You pry it out along the bottom edge.
