Help, shop broke my xreas

So I went to have my ds lift put in...and Tru disconnected the xreas...car is terrible now.

The will reinstall the whole system and charge m whole for parts and free labor. Or they will install any suspension setup I want for free (I buy wholesale)

The xreas fix would cost me 700.00.

What do u recommend...I am new to all of this..please help.

I have a 08' 4x4 that had xreas, installed 2.5/1.5 lift an 275/65/18 duratrac...

They broke it and want to charge you $700 to fix it? Really??
If they opened the xreas system i'm thinking that its gonna be a lot more than $700 for parts.

I recommend that they fix what they broke!

i agree, besides the labor being free, they should also pay the cost of the xreas since they screwed it up in the first place.
 
Ok so I got my truck back with the new XREAS. The receipt shows 4 new absorbers. They were from the local Toyota dealership....

The truck does not seem to handle as well...however the last time I drove it it had highway tires on it and no lift...

Wouldn't they need to replace more than just the shocks....
 
So I went to the local Toyota dealership and confirmed online with a tech that if more than a drop of fluid was removed from the xreas it is shot.... I raced over to the shop and provided them the info I learned. They seemed hesitant to agree, but said they would look I into it.

I got a call 4 hours later saying I was right and they are going to install the whole system from scratch. Hopefully, this time, they know what they are doing; I just want my truck back to the way it was when I brought it in for my Daystar lift, what a nightmare.
 
Whats the cost of the complete xreas system? You might be able to get an Icon or Toytec suspension lift out of them if its cheaper :boink: :thumb3:

The shocks costs 588.00...they are gonna added the tubing and center controllers, I think the controllers are 600.00 total, not sure about tubing.

I would just go with another suspension setup, like Qjake recommended or Icon.

If you really want to keepn Xreas, I get it. I would have the dealer fix it and take the invoice over to the shop and have them pay it. you can sue them at this point.

I think I could easily sue as well...I would rather work it out like "gentleman," but if it gets to that point I will....

Anyway I am new to the Toyota offroad scene...I would definitely rather have a better suspension system, that costs less, and easier for them to install but dontknowwhich one to buy. What I loved about xreas is that it kept the "nose down.". I hate having a truck that I have to slow down to 3mph to make a turn.

Believe me, if there are xreas alternatives that are easier for the shop to install, I am game.
