Help spend my money

First off hello all. I am new to the forum. I live south of Dallas, TX.

I have been looking to purchase a 4runner for daily driving and hunting. I have an 06 F250 for pulling stuff and a 06 highlander for soccer mom duties.

I want 4X4 as some times I just need it. I am not a super off roading fool or anything, but light trails in Moab are not out of the question. Along with muddy back roads around deer leases and such.

When I am looking is there anything I should pay attention too? Like 97s have this issue, or 2000s have bad Xs. I seem to find most between 4-6000.00 but the miles are all over 115K -200K +. Help guide me as my ultimate goal is to have something I can keep a long time and enjoy.

Thanks
Patrick

Like any car, it depends on the previous owner. If it's been babied and properly maintained it could get 400-500K. Mine (w/ 196K) on the other hand is going to need a valve job (or possibly a full rebuild) soon, but that's because I beat on it and live in the mountains so I put a lot of very hard miles on it. As long as it drives good, 200K on a Toyota is like 100K on a Ford or Dodge.
