Help! Steering wheel shaking

It never shakes when I apply the breaks.
While I'm accelerating from zero everything is fine til I get to about 42 MPH, then shaking starts. It settles down when I get to about 65. While im cruising around 65 or 70, everything is fine. But it shakes again when i let of the gas and the mpH is in the 50s.
I have watched it closely and there is no correlation to up hill or down hill.

I'm guessing is has nothing to do with the pads or rotors since shaking does not happen when I apply the breaks.

Any ideas?

Have the wheels/tires balanced by a shop that will take the time to install the adapter for lug-centric wheels. You can spin balance without it, get goose-eggs and then respin it after turning the wheel about 1/4 turn on the balancer shaft and it may be way off. I've had nightmares with getting shops to do a proper balance on my 2nd, 3rd and now 4th gen T4R's.

And if that doesn't fix it, seek out a shop that has a RoadForce balancer. That will detect tire and wheel problems that spin balancing won't ever notice.

When vibrations like you describe happen at a specific speed it's usually a wheel balance issue. There can be other causes, but that's the most common.
