HELP! Think i've blown a starter fuse?

Hello everyone, just picked up my 4runner today and have already had a problem.

I THINK that i blew the starter fuse but i am not sure!

when trying to jump my car today, I accidentally hooked up the negative to the positive and the positive to the negative. When i put the clamp on the battery quite a bit of sparks flew out.

I've got the lights and horn working but when i turn the key absolutely nothing happens, has anyone had this problem before???

I believe that it would be the starter fuse, but when i pull that fuse out I cannot tell if it is blown or not(it is boxish and you cannot see the wire)

I am supposed to drive back to Colorado tomorrow and dont know what to do! Does anyone have any information about this problem or has anyone had this problem as well?

any help would be MUCH appreciated!!!

do not know what a bump start is, and no it is automatic

when i pull that fuse out I cannot tell if it is blown or not(it is boxish and you cannot see the wire)

Time to invest in a $29.00 (or cheaper) multi-meter.

Set to impedance / OHMs then put one lead on each side of the fuse, if it reads INFINITY then the fuse is blown.

Total time 5 seconds.

Check or replace the following fuses:

7.5 amp sta.

30 amp am2

40 amp am1

Make certain the transmission shifter is in PARK.

Put tranmission shifter in NUETRAL and try it.
