Help! trouble with wheel rotors/Callipers

I'm currently trying to replace a couple wheel studs. I have successfully taken everything apart and replaced on the front right tire. I figured I might as well replace the brake pads while I am here.
However. When waiting for a few item in the mail, I started to take apart the drivers side front tire, I cannot for the life of me get the rotor off. I have examined and re examined the successful change, but still cannot get the rotor off on the driver side. I have tried PB blaster over and over, tried heating it up with a torch, tugged and pulled. I have not completely taken the brake caliper off, I have taken the front brake pad. The back pad, and the 2 large bolts holding it to the dust plate are still attached. Also the dust plate is on there. Should I take those off to get more access to the rotor, or am I missing a bolt somewhere??

I'm not really understanding the dilemma. If you got the pads off, which means the slide pins are out... your rotor should be almost falling off. Unless there is an insane amount of rust around your wheel studs or hub.

I would say just rubber mallet that thing, or if you don't have one, hold up a piece of wood against the rotor and hit it with a hammer.

Some brake rotors have a small screw that holds them in place while you install them, but I don't believe there is one on a 4runner - at least I've never seen one in my brake travels.

Remove the caliper and just hit the rotor with a LARGE hammer. It WILL pop off but you have to hit it hard and probably a few times. GL.

I know it sounds a bit barbaric but I've been working on cars all my life and it's very common. You won't hurt the rotor.......

you need to remove the caliper to get the rotor off. there are a total of 4 large bolts that hold the caliper on . i think its 4 or 2. if you are looking at the rotor . the bolts should be on the right side towards the inside

X2. There are 4 17mm bolts that hold the caliper on. When you take those off, brake fluid will have seeped out and two small O rings will most likely expose themselves!:moon:

Just make sure when you put it all together you don't misalign those O rings cause it'll leak fluid everywhere...and then bleed the caliper you removed. Its not hard, just know what to look for and you'll be fine.

As far as removing the rotor, you should be able to pop it off with a fist bump. Nothing holds it on but the caliper.
