HELP! VSC trac, ABS, and skid pic lights on

Try a zero point caibration first then go from there.

If you can get it done, I'd try a ZPC and see if that does anything as it won't really hurt anything.

But really you need to pull the DTCs so we can look at them. No one can accurately tell you what is wrong with the vehicle without knowing what the codes are, the lights are there to tell you, "Hey! I think I have a problem; but you need to ask (pull DTCs) what I think is the issue!"

I had very similar issues which I fixed with the a new brake light switch.

I got the following two codes when my lights came on:

C1223: Malfunction in ABS Control System
C1249: Brake Light Switch Circuit Malfunction

I got the code descriptions from the following website: http://alflash.com.ua/OBDII/DTCe1.pdf

The second code relating the brake light switch is key so I went to O'Reilly's and got the following part: Import Direct Ignition 18-1827 - Stoplight Switch | O'Reilly Auto Parts

I pulled out the old one (which requires a little twist first then pull) and put the new one and boom! the lights were gone. The pictures below are the part and where it's located (which is right above the brake pedal):

replace anti skid wire

replace the anti skid wire even though there are no codes these sensors tend to act whacky after 65K I had same prob on left side front replaced both works great

also to those replacing front end make sure you properly support wheel hubs calipers the wire inside these sensors stretch break they are as thick as angel hair so be careful avg price on skid wire part $40

Hey guys i had problem in 4 runner 2002.after i change HBB motor with pump. Brake started work perfect. Only one problem ligts is on and Firestone not can read ABS CODES. They say they not see ABS.
And not possible to do zero point calibration
My question.
What can be wrong?
Were is brain of ABS system?
ABS module (come with master silinder) or ABS TRAC VSC COMPUTER CONTROL MODULE (what is left side of driver.)

Abs system meltdown

I’ll try to be as brief as possible. Wife tells me lights on the dash came on. No driving issues. Used scan tool which showed following codes: C0210 / C1223. Removed and cleaned rt. Rear sensor and reinstalled. Test drove and vehicle drove fine but dash lights still on. Wife goes to p/u daughter and brakes lock up. Has to use 4wd to lip home with burning brakes. I hook up scan tool and get the following codes: c0210 / c0278 / c1223 / c1246 / c1253 / c1256. All abs related. Alarm buzzer going off. Goes into dealer who want 4g to fix and can’t even say if that will fix issue. Get it towed home due to dealer only offering 2g as trade in if my wife got a new vehicle. Truck is in great shape so no deal. Replaced rt rear sensor released rear brakes. Plug scanner back in now only get two original codes but brakes are locked tight again. Guessing I need an ABS module. Issue is not sure if I just need abs pump or whole master cylinder assembly. Seems like online junk yards are selling parts separate. Any thoughts please chime in I’ll take any help I can get.
