Help... Warning lights stay on

When I turn on my car 4 of the dash warning lights remain on. The ABS, VSC OFF, VSC TRAC and emergency brake light all are on. The brake is not on.

Any ideas why this is?

Any help is much appreciated.

Hi, this is probably an abs code. The 2 other lights come on when a code is present in the engine ecu or abs ecu. You will need to go to a garage to check this, unless you have a scanner...

I have the same + check eng light. 2001 4runner My breaks work fine, no ABS plus when I put it on the reader it says no stored DTCs and does not do ABS. We fixed the evap problem and the check eng light went out, for now. I have a patasidic drain I am chasing.

This question is for Charles: Should I tackle the cluster and ebreak possibilities or get a new ecm for the ABS? I've replaced the rest of the abs oh and the spedometer went out od not working since bought it.
Is there a recommended rest for where I'm at?? Up to my elbows and reg is due. Hope for smog pass.

2001 get a new ecm for the ABS?

I used this with same problem had to replace Trac ABS module. Speedometer/Odometer Not Working + Related Warning Lights (P0500)

One AFR sensor (sem-wideband O2) and one traditional O2 sensor.

You would be best served to get under the "green machine" and
count them.

Start from just behind the engine and follow the exhaust pipe to the end.

They look like over-sized spark plugs with wires coming out of them, inserted
directly into the pipe.

Being a 01 it has AFR forward 2 Cats O2 sensor rear, only way they left the factory.

Mine is a 3.4L V6 SR5 2WD 2001 4runner automatic tranny 4 door.
Evap was what the code read, it couldn't pass smog...
Check engine light came on. The code read evap. No problem.
Fix ended up being check valve on top of gas tank, had to drop tank. Canister fine.
Then my rr brake slave cylinder went out. Seriously in the mountains almost launched off of mountain.
Repaired, bled, checked, checked again. Brakes are fine but NOW almost EVERY LIGHT THAT COULD BE WAS ON: AND BRAKE LIGHT STAYED ON...
Three years later after trying or replacing EVERYTHING it was now coming up with codes on wheel sensors, brakes, Trac control, o2sensor, cat, misfire, and check eng light still on!!?¿
Too much.

You want to know? I would have. Tinman if you only had a brain. I replaced the ABS PCM MOD. UNDER DRIVERS LEFT FOOT. Two screws, plug and play. And it only cost me $140? You take the terminals off the batt add new brain and * problem is fixed. ALL LIGHTS AND CODES OFF.

DONE. IT PASSED SMOG LAST MONTH.
So if you think it's too crazy and getting worse, try the brain. Not the trucks big PCM on passenger side, just the little silver box part # ends in 10.

I hope I save you Years! Mine now Runns Amazing. All the little compensations- not needed. In about a week it will run even better.
