Help with 2001 4Runner factory radio

I have replaced almost all of the instrument panel lights, including the glove box, fuel gauge, tranny shifter bulb, ashtray bulb. I am having trouble finding the bulb/base for the rear window dash switch. The base is still good if I could determine which bulb fits it? The other question is on the factory radio. The radio, cassette and CD player all work good except the display light is flickering sometimes and sometimes it does not work at all. I don't want an aftermarket stereo. I want to keep the original. I removed the radio and made sure that the plug was inserted into the back. I also removed the face plate but couldn't see a bulb anywhere on the circuit board. Does anyone know how to repair this?
Any help is appreciated.

I know there has to be a bulb soldered into the circuit board somewhere. Does anybody know how to remove the glass in the front of the display? ANYONE ?

Nothing in Service manual I have on my computer here.

I doubt Toyota would want a customer to open the radio. There are no serviceable parts available separate from Toyota. Need to find a used one at a junk yard or buy new (If still avail) at the dealer.

You might ruin the head unit but you could tear it apart yourself.

The faceplate is easily removed. It is also simple to remove the circuit board. The glass part of the front of the faceplate is what I can't figure out how to disassemble. I have found several repair services available. These places will repair the CD (whether it needs it or not) and repair the illumination for about $89 plus shipping. I think if it is a minor solder repair it can be done. Just don't know how to open it up.

Can't help you there. Never had mine open. I took the factory one out and installed an aftermarket one.
