Help with Bilstein 5100 Stock Height

Hey everyone! I know that I may get some upset people hear that will say that I did not search enough, but I did try and had trouble locating my specific need.

I installed the Toytec Ultimate lift (the bilstein 5100's with coil overs and rear springs) and my family is having trouble getting in and out of the vehicle at it's 3 inch lifted height. I want to go back to the stock specifications for height. Also, keep in mind I have after market UCA's, I forget the brand, but it was nothing like Icon or anything like that. Something like Light Racing or whatever replaced them.

So...

A) What do I set the fronts to, to retain the factory rake? If I don't have the factory rake, it's going to look funny when under load.

B) I am assuming that removing the rear springs and replacing them with the stock springs (leaving the Bilstein's installed in the rear of course) will get the rear back to factory height. Does that sound correct?

C) Can I retain the aftermarket UCA's, or are they useless then?

Thanks for your help. Just trying to help the family out as we've had a few bumps and scrapes getting out. Ouch!

Looking at that kit on ToyTec's site it says it's a 1"-3" front lift so you won't be able to get back to stock height with that setup.

On the rear you could put your OEM springs back in but the Bilsteins appear to be extended travel so I think those will allow further travel than the OEM springs have, and therefore a spring can fall out when under full flex.

You're probably best off to just reinstall your OEM stuff and sell the whole lift kit.

Thank you for the reply, I can live with the inch in the front, but would not like to jeopardize the rear if ever in full flex.

I totally hear you on reinstalling everything stock, but don't really want the stock shocks. I much prefer the Bilsteins to get rid of the roll and dip.

I know, dumb question, but if I interpret what you are saying about the rear quarters....the springs are what would fall out because the shock is extended travel correct? If so, I wonder how people have replaced the rear with Bilstein 5100's with their stock springs? Did they by a different 5100 for the rear than what came with my kit?

Yes, there is a standard replacement, and a 2" extended version for lift.

You want the Bilstein 33-187174. Good for lift height from 0-2". $66 with Amazon prime at the moment, so snap them up while they're cheap!

Ok, just checked my original order. I have the Bilstein 33-187174 shocks currently installed. I went with a spring with less lift, so that probably how I ended up with these shocks. Looks, like I am set in the rear to just re-install the factory springs.
