hey im completlly new to car audio and i just bought a 98 4x4 4runner and im already in love lol. but i need help replacing the factory system and tips for subwopofers. with the subwoofers im gonna build 4 different enclosures that form a box in the back of the car. so if i need the space i can unconnect the woofers and take out the box. idk the exact measurements im gonna take them 2marrow but what are some good woofers to put in these boxs and which amps should i use? i know nothing about car speakers or anything so i really appreciate the help

Well I'll offer some simple advice first before others put in there opinions on the ideal equipment. You need to have the equipment first before you have a plan on what to build, because you build the subwoofer enclosure to match the requirements of the equipment being placed.
So first you need to know what you'll use, then a plan on how to use it. (Installing it).
Edit: Since this is your first foray into Car audio, and everyone has different tastes why not listen at a local car audio shop to get an idea of what you like. Some will love dual 15" in bandpass rattling everything for a 1/4 mile, others like a small 10" woofer that is very musical. Plus different music sounds better with different setups a classic rock guy has different requirements that someone pumping T.I. at 145db.

I have a 98 as well and here is what I did . For the fronts I bought a set of Polk Audio db6501's > Polk Audio db6501 6-1/2" component speaker system at Crutchfield.com
Here is the double din HU I got , no troubles with it to date either and I have the Sirius add-on as well > http://outlet.crutchfield.com/p_105KWGX700/JVC-KW-XG700.html?cc=02&search=jvc+head+unit&ssi=0
I love that head unit , especially the USB thing . I just load up a 7 gig usb stick and plug it in and no messing with CD's or anything anymore.
In regards to the speakers :
I have abused and hammered on these things for 2 years now and not one single issue yet , still sound fantastic . But they need wattage to run to their potential . In other words not off stock deck power , I run a TRUE 100 watts per side continuous to these without any issues so far ( older Alpine amp ) . I mounted the cross overs behind the door panels .
For my sub I just run an older Sony Xplod 12" ported box , powered by a 800 watt amp and it sits in the back on the floor.( No its not a rap machine LOL , I hate rap BUT I like to feel the drums with any music I listen to ) . THAT is the one thing I hate as both amps are mounted to the back of the sub and its a giant PIA to pull out . Crappy cause I sleep in the back on small camping trips .
I am considering building a down firing sub box the width of the truck and then continue on that height with a sleeping platform for camping . Think it will be ok then . If you can picture that kind a setup .

Unfournatlly there's isn't a local sound shop around here it sucks living in a small town. And yeah I figured I needed to have all the equipment but idk what would go together and what exaclly I would need basiclly I know what I want I just don't know how to make it work. The last part of your post I didn't under stand any and I only under stood about half of xjeepguy's post. Sorry if isound stupid lol. Basiclly what I want is something that makes the music sound realistic with a good amount of extra bass (aka the 4 boxes in the back) and I wanted to make it like that so I could pull them out and sleep in the back sorta like xjeepguy
