Hey all, been a long time since i been on here, just got back from the wonderful vacation spot known as Afghanistan.
Long story short, earlier this week my runner (1990 SR5, 4WD, 22re out of a 1995) started making a rattling/clanking noise. Went away whenever I pushed in the clutch, gets louder under load. I figured it was either the clutch plate or throwout bearing, so i went ahead and replaced the whole clutch system (clutch plate, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, and slave cylinder for good measure).
Bled the clutch this mornin, and hit the road. much to my dismay its doin the same thing, but today i noticed that the speed of rattle is dependent on my speed, not my RPM's (i.e. 60mph rattles faster than 30mph)
I was thinkin it might be my rear end, cause the guy i bought it from thought it'd be a good idea to weld the gears, but I haven't gotten a chance to break into it yet. any other thoughts or suggestions for what to check before I drop the tranny again?
Thanks in advance
