Help with Front End Noise

Help with Front End Noise -
Figured you all know more about t4r that dealerships.
I have a 2012 Trail. Recently had a wreck and took t4r to body shop at Toyota dealership. Bad idea. They fixed all the cosmetic damages. But now there is a clunky sound that I cannot determine where it is coming from. The sound is definitely from the front end and you can only hear it where you go about 20mph and over bumps. When you drive fast over bumps you do not hear.
I took to dealership a few times and was told 1st it was the jack rattling and then it was normal wear. Its been a mess trying to get them to fix. I have checked all the plastic front end pieces and everything seems to be OK. I also kinds feel it in the gas pedal and steering wheel. Again only hear when going around 20 mph.

Honestly, given it was wrecked and fixed, there could be tons of reasons for this and we don't have a clue to go on. I'd recommend you find another shop and have them go through the truck.

You can reopen the case with the insurance company that paid for repairs (yours or other party) and claim that the vehicle was not fixed to the condition it was in before the incident. This will be a pain in the ass, sorry, but the best thing to do is to get it into another shop to check everything, be it on your dime or the insurance company's.

how bad was this accident? did you replace any other components besides cosmetics?

perhaps it's sway bar bushings front end clunk

unfortunately you may have to replace pieces one by one until you find the issue. sucks for sure, but it does look like others have had similar clunk issues and were eventually able to get them resolved it just might cost you some $

I would blame the accident for the noise rather than trying to give the dealership a bad rap.

All the items below would be places to look for damage or something being loose.

Front end:
Bad coilover
Ball joint (upper and lower)
TRE's (inner and outer)
CV's
Sway bar links
Sway bar
UCA
LCA
Steering rack
Steering linkage
Skid plate
Wheel bearing
Spindle

I would look at the hood latch.

Insufficiently torqued rear LCA bolts caused clunking in ours. IRRC the Alignment shop torqued to 60 lbs and they needed to be at 90 lbs. Once done the clunking went away.

Check the rubber hood stoppers. I had issues going over speed bumps slow and it turned out the hood stoppers werent high enough so the hood would rattle.
