HELP!! with my toyota alarm

I bought a 1999 SR5 4x4 last week. There was no keyless remote with my 4runner. Previous owner lost it apparently. I just finished dissasembling my steering column area and I finally found the brain.

I have a VIP RS 2000 with glass break sensor. Yes, a RS-TWO THOUSAND. I've done a web search and can't find anything on it. Since all the wiring is ran for it, is it possible to swap out maybe a vip RS3200 brain and glass break sensor? Or will I have to rewire the whole damn thing? If I get a new VIP, do they still have the remotes that have a button for the rear window?

Or, should I just keep the RS2000 that's already there and just try to find a keyless remote? I don't have any idea what kind of remote to get for it.

Please...someone help me!

my stock alarm went haywire with in the first week i bought it from a private seller.

Id ask a dealer(if its the stock alarm) for a remote or go to an car audio electronics place and ask.

Personally id go and buy a new alarm system if you want one and bring it somewhere and have them tear out the old one and install the new one.

It should be free to take the old one out especially if you having a new one put in.

Hey, I have the same truck and you can find the remotes on Ebay for cheap. Better to get the oem remote if not going to go with an aftermarket alarm system. And the rear glass button does come in handy. This seller also provides programming instructions. Hope this helps you good luck.

I just picked one up off ebay. Thanks for the link. Now I'm just hoping that it works. If it doesn't work, I think I"m just going to install an RS3000. We'll see if it works when it gets here.
