Help with Noise? Under drivers seat

2005 v-8, 4-runner, 35000 miles, sr5-
So I am hearing and feeling a clack sound under my buttocks when I come to a stop and sometimes when I take off from a stop. I know what you are all thinking and you want to tell me that it is the driveshaft issue that has been talked about at length on this website. I cannot feel it in the shifter when it does this. It almost feels like something is popping or clacking in the seat. It does this going straight sometimes from a stop or stopping straight. It does it when turning at times also. It doesn't do it at times when I try to make it happen. So am I experiencing the fatal drivetrain issue or have people had issues with their seats making noises? I will try to further diagnose in the comming days. Are seats covered in the platnium coverage? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks, Kevinu

Could be either one. The shifter is not mechanically connected to the transmission, so you wouldn't feel any driveline vibrations through it.

I think mine has developed the popping as well recently. I can feel a slight shift in the seat when taking corners. It doesn't always happen. There is a TSB for the fix and it appears to be a janky type fix. IIRC, the dealer is suppose to cut off the dowel alignment pins on the tracks that meet with the floorboard.

There is no 100% fix in most cases.

I've had the frame replaced, tracks lubed and pins cut...it still happens, though just less.
