Help with potential purchase

First off, new to the forums so I apologize if this type of posting is a faux-pas.

I've been in the market for a 4th gen and one popped up today for sale. $8500 with 129k miles. This is below what I have budgeted for my purchase but if this is a good value I would pull the trigger, because it is what I have in mind just with higher miles.

2004 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4WD

I'm just looking for initial thoughts on value and advise on what to look for and ask. What mechanical concerns specific to T4R should I be thinking of with this vehicle?

Thanks for any help. I'm pretty excited to get a t4r and learn a lot along the way.

That's a good looking ride. Not a lot to comment on but one thing to look for is try out the 4 wheel drive high and low gears. Read up on how to properly engage them though. Low range cam be tricky. Most SUV never or rarely engage their 4wd so the actuators could be frozen. But unlikely. Also look under the engine to see if it looks like it has been cleaned or degreased. If so they may be trying to hode an oil leak. Other than that hopefully the tires and shocks are shot so you can justify some new fun toys for it.

Nice looking and not a bad price. If I didn't already have a truck payment, I might take it for that. Be sure to check the coolant level.
