Help with spacer lift - Monrovia-Pasadena

What’s up folks! I want to lift my 2016 trail with spacers but I don’t even know where to start. I dont plan on doing heavy off road driving but I will do a little bit. I heard about spacers lift but I like more information. Is it as easy as just buying spacers (~$100) and just installing it? I want a 3” front and 2” back to level my look. Also I need a recommendation for a place (Monrovia are surrounding) to install spacers with KDSS experience. Thanks in advance!

Spacers are the worst possible way to go. With that said, at 3" up front, you will need upper control arms to get a proper alignment. you should install a diff drop kit. 2" in the back will also require longer shocks.

Agree. That's a substantial suspension change using just spacers. You might be able to get away with it, but I'm not sure you'll like the way it drives even if you do. Some Bilstein 5100s at 1.75" up front should get you pretty close to level and improve your handling. But, it's your ride. Good luck.

Yep, front end will ride like a tank with 3" spacers. Spacers in the back are not such a big deal IMO but not a fan up front.

Ok so spacers is a bad idea I’m reading. What about a slight 2” lift- still bad?

What other options do I have for a slight lift without breaking the bank. Let’s say with $600 budget?

Bilstein 5100 up front and reuse your stock coils. spacer in the back with a 5100 shock. $600 is not going to get you lifted with parts and labor. Parts alone even going as cheap as possible will run you in that $600 range. Then factor in labor, alignment, tires, wheels unless you keep your stock wheels.

I'd say $600 pretty much gets you the parts as well. I'm having mine installed on Monday for $1040 which includes taxes, alignment, 5100s all around and a 1" RC rear spacer. I was contemplating the RC 2/1 spacer but decided against it.

About $500 in parts with the 5100s and ebay spacers. Probably $400-$500 in labor and alignment depending on your local shop rates. Then of course tires which is up to you. Some are cheaper than others.

You can see below what I am currently running. My next move will be the adjustable 5100s on front, remove 2.5 spacers and either reuse stock coils or perhaps go with afternarket set like Toytecs, unless anyone has alternative advice. Current ride comfort is not bad, but I am thinking the 5100s up front will maybe even be better. Im not a hardcore offroader - just occasional weekends at the ranch. You’ll find this to be a great forum with good folks and advice. Enjoy your project.

Thanks for sharing! So you did just spacers in front and blistens in rear? Was this because of budget reasons? I might be ok with 5100 for both and install with new budget of $800 (fingers crossed). I'm definitely not hard core off road -not even weekend warrior. Monthly warrior? I want a higher look without compromising ride comfort (or at least very minimal compromise) but definitely want to have the option of off roading once in a while. I think I might wait until next summer and try some trails with my stock feet to see what I really want and willing to spend. Yeah this forum I great- many helpful members. I need to do a meetup and meet some people in my area!
