Help with the diff drop

I just put on my lift (very happy about that!) and I tried to throw on the diff drop real quick too, but for the life of me could NOT get the bolts off. I tried taking the bolts on the bottom of the two diff mounts near the LCA mounts and even pushing a ratchet with both of my feet it wouldn't budge at all. :redbrick: I sprayed it with a bit of PB hoping it might help a little but still nothing. I spent hours trying to find any write-ups or people having the same issues with no luck. Did anyone else have this much trouble with these mounts or have any advice on cracking those nuts loose? My car is already shooting axle grease all over the place so I want to get this thing on ASAP.

I've removed those bolts on 3 different rusty tacomas/4runner and never had a problem, they always seemed loose. If you are sure you are on the right bolts I'd use an impact or breaker bar. Is the bolt seized into the sleeve of the differential bracket too, maybe its too tight to even tell that yet?

Edit: No idea why those are upside down, but that should clear up what you're looking at.

Yes, what you have in the center of the pic with the rubber isolater is what you should be loosening. I used a long cheater bar to break my parts truck bolts free.

get yourself a BIG breaker bar (get a big fence pipe from lowes/home depot). I have a 5 foot one that i use sometimes. leverage is your friend!

My buddy has a big 5 foot long steel pipe that I used to compress my springs for my lift, so I'll give that a go later today. Thanks for the advice guys. At least I wasn't the only one. ^^

And sadly, I'm too broke for power tools.

I broke a socket wrench doing mine actually... Something about a ninja kick on the cheater bar over it didn't work out very well.

Harbor Freight is your friend! $9.99 for a breaker bar.

I did mine with a breaker bar (no cheater bar), impact socket, and a wrench for the top bolt and did the whole drop in about 20 minutes.

You probably want to use a jack to hold up the diff

It's recommended to use a jack but your diff isn't going to fall out if you don't. I disconnected the rear bolt and driveshaft along with the front bolts and still had a hell of a time pulling the front diff out.
