Well I finally was able to get back into town to have my Runner looked at after my accident. The body shop said I have some good damage! I was going to fix myself but was told that the frame needs a slight straightening since the rear 1/4 panel moved on me. I was not happy but he also let me know that we can go up to 75% of retail value to fix before they total it! I don't want my runner totaled for this!

I'd get a second opinion on that... the picture doesn't show damage that would lead me to believe the frame has been bent. The rear quarter panel moving wouldn't necessarily be related to the frame either because it's not a unibody construction.
How do the gaps between the doors and adjacent panel look on both sides?

I agree mforce! Salvage what you have, don't let them total it.
It looks more like body damage than anything serious but I would need to get up underneath it. And like fish said, we don't have unibodies so 1/4 panels can be replaced by themselves. Do you have anymore pictures?

I agree. I am not going to let them total it. I want it fixed. This is the first dent in the body! It has never been wrecked or anything. I want them to fix it and be done with it. Would you make them use New panels? They want to use used Toyota lift gate and new bumper. They said the frame is slightly bent down..very little to make the rear 1/4 panel move. They said it would only take very little rack time to get it straight. I want them to use "NEW" Toyota parts on it not used.

I would not rush to judgement.
Perhaps you should let them total it and buy it back as salvaged. Unless I'm mistaken O.P. gets first dibs on salvage. You stand to net a pretty penny; then just use the proceeds to start the modding / repairs. :art:
You definitely need a new rear bumper but who says it needs to be O.E.M.

If they totaled it I would get a check for around $4,000. They say it is only worth around $6,000. I have around $2400 in fixing it and that is using used parts. The frame has a slight bend downward to it the body shop said. But I have chosen to have the body shop fix it using used parts and painting them to match that way if they need more $$$ to fix it I am still able to get it fixed without them totaling it out!

Pretty sure once they start working on it (i.e., spending money on it), they won't total it. The insurance company would probably consider it fraudulent if the shop can't do the job close to their estimate. Not sure where you're located though, every state/country handles these things differently.
