Great looking 4runner, but I believe true highlanders have black fender flares, a sport hood, and were only available in 1999. Nevertheless, yours looks great!

Nice! Yours is a highlander, don't worry. In 2000 they had the limited flares and silver was available. Does it have the 5 speed too and locker too?

Well it may be the sport edition then. I was under the impression that they were called the highlander until 01. It has the sport interior just like an 01 or 02 just no exterior "sport edition" badge.

Auto transmission but it does have the locker. I have already done the fog light mod where I can use them all the time, disconnected the DRL's, and grounded the rear locker where it can be used in 2wd. I can't belive the difference the rear locker makes in 2wd!!

Also, i love the sport interior.

I may be wrong about the highlander thing. Either way, yours really does look like a nice one.

Highlander and Sport are basically the same highlander was 99 only (but apperently someone has a 2000 that says highlander on the window sticker). The major differences are 99's had thinner black flares, tall coils, and Green or Black only. 2000 was wider limited flares but with no cladding and were available in silver along with green and black. Both available with 5 speeds and S/C's.

140k and some change. Southern truck without a hint of rust anywhere. Planning on a bumper...prolly outdoor logic without the tube work or a schrockworks without the tube work.

If we want to nitpick then the 2000s were also called Highlander models til Toyota released what we know as a Highlander in '01 and those flares are actually the SR5 wide flares and are a little different than the Limited model's as the Limiteds have different running boards that mold more directly to the flares so the flares are slightly different but it's simply not really noticeable except to 4Runner nerds.

I think that after '00 all of the wider flares were this style. They did away with the molded flare/running boards after '99.
