Here's my plan. Thoughts, opinions?

Since I bought my 02' a few months ago I went from going all out with front rear bumpers and lockers and 33" tires, to keeping it around stock height (99' height) or a little higher This went from a 2nd car to a daily driver so things have changed a bit. I carry 4 people and 2 kayaks with weekend gear frequently, sometimes with 3 bikes on back. Would like to get a custom front bumper or ARB in the future. I would like to increase the load capacity a bit. I would also really, really like to get rid of the pogo, bouncy, squishy ride it has now. something a little more firm and planted. Sticking with stock or a little bigger tires.

So here's my list so far.
OME 880 front 960 rear w/ sport shocks.
CBI sliders
265/70-16 Cooper STT or 275/70-16 Maxxis Bighorn.
Polyurethane steering rack bushings, and sway bar bushings.


So my main question would be should i go with the 880/906 combo or 881/890? Any opinions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I was struggling with questions regarding a similar spring setup.

If you want a stockish ride height I think the 880's and 906's would be fine, however it will probably have some rake to it. Since you may be adding a bumper and extra weight I would go with the 891's. If you want it level the 906's should work for the rear, however it looks like you have some gear so you may want to step up to 890's instead.

This is what I just ordered:
881's with the 1/4" top plate spacer (1/2" of additional lift vs 3/4" with the more common top plate spacer)
890's in the rear
Sport shocks
Diff drop

I dont carry any weight aside from the 99' fat lip bumper which some say is heavier due to crash zone stuff. In the rear I just carry a small delta cargo box and some misc stuff.

Yeah I think I will probably go with 881/890 combo. We load it up allot sometimes. Thanks for the input.

881/890 is a good combo

a few of us run the 881s up front and the 890s in the rear.

I had 891s but they became tiresome for daily driving.However, they rode great when I had the truck loaded with 300-500 lbs of gravel. I am replenishing my driveway again now and my 890s handle that kind of load just fine as well, but do sag perhaps a bit more than the 891s did when loaded up.

881s up front work well with my ARB bumper.

more than anything take care of maintenance first. If you have not already added a tranny cooler or replaced the radiator, save your auto transmission first and foremost.

The dreaded strawberry milkshake claims a new victim or two every single day.The older your ride gets the more likely it is a potential to happen to you.

If you are not familiar with it please read up and save yourself from having to buy a tranny. A radiator replacement is relatively cheap and easy to do and could save you thousand$.
