Hesitation/Jerking

Okay so this started about a week ago. When I go uphill the car hesitates/jerks mildly. It doesn't feel like a transmission issue more like the engine wants to cut out. I changed the fuel filter and that didn't help even though my Runner still had the OE filter. Only code I'm getting is P0171 which I'm fixing to address. Going to clean the MAF, Intake, and Throttle body for good measure and hope I don't need to replace the MAF. Could the hesitation be caused by a bad plug/plugs but not to the point of misfire? Has anyone else went through this, if so what was the fix. I'm on a limited budget and I'm hoping to track this down myself and not go back into the shop. I've got a trip coming up that's 900 miles one way and I really would like opinions on what may be causing this. Sorry for the long post.

i had a p0171 code the other day with my supercharger, i was messing with the vacuum hoses and found there was a slight leak in the pcv hose which caused a lean code at idle. i have a afr gauge so i was able to see my afr the whole time but i would check the vacuum hoses to see if anything has come off or has a slight leak, idk if its related but a good thing to cross off before anything major.

Anyone happen to know what size the screws are that hold the MAF in place I went to pull mine and noticed there is only 1 when there should be 2. Also could spark plugs be causing my hesitation? I still don't understand how it is only when I'm going uphill and it's not throwing a code other than P0171.
