Hesitation/ overheat

Hi guys,

A follow up from my earlier issues, coughed up the money for the URD rear o2 simulator, worked like a charm passed NY inspection. On to my new found issues.

Since I no longer have my CEL on all the time I found my truck has a very bad hesitation problem at slow speeds, example tried to slowly back up my driveway just this evening only to find my truck not moving with moderate pedal travel and then I hear my ABS kicking on and off, traction light on and off..eventually my truck goes but at this point my pedal travel is far more than necessary causing a jerking movement. I also experienced this in parking lots. Slow crawl over speed bumps, go to continue peaks travel and nothing, same thing eventually abs and my truck goes but to quickly now. Weird issue not sure where to start? MAF sensor?

I also have an issue with my truck getting really warm almost overheating at a stop example traffic light. Once I get moving Temps come down very quickly. I checked coolant level it seems good. I put a new radiator in about a year ago denso product to. Let me know where I should start looking? Headgasket?

The overheat concern sounds like a bad fan clutch, are you getting a lot of fan noise for thirty seconds or so on cold starts? If not check the fan clutch.

Have you ever had any Throttle Position Sensor codes? If the sensor has been touched (paint match marks broken) rotate it back so they line up again. If the sensor is off, when you press on the pedal it stumbles and falls on its face since the TPS says it's still "idling" until you really press the pedal, then it moves out of "idle" and lurches forward.

I watched the video posted by Tim on how to replace fan clutch and also test it. Going to check this out this weekend. The ambient temperatures have been 90 this week so I can see if the fan wasn't spinning at low idle speeds at a stop why the truck would warm up very quickly.

I have not had any TPS codes but will double deck the sensor, would this result in the abs/Trac light? My first thought was some type of wheel speed sensor or abs at the wheels I'm not sure though

No, it would potentially just through a CEL for the TPS.

If you have the ABS light on, yeah that's most likely a damaged or faulty ABS wheel sensor.
