Hi all, I'm having trouble diagnosing my 1999 4r Cali Emission 4x4 Auto and was wondering if you guys could make recommendations on where to start. The issue seems related to condensation. The car will misfire and hesitate to accelerate until it warms up only during the first drive of the day. After it warms up, it runs fine without any hesitation or misfire. I'm guessing that when I park it, some condensation shorts something electrical and the part malfunctions until it heats up and the condensation evaporates. I wish I had a check engine light but unfortunately it doesn't nor does the CEL flash. I replaced the spark plugs/wires within the last 10k sometime over the past year, with Genuine Toyota parts from the dealer.
Something that I find strange is that, it doesn't start to hesitate or misfire until I've driven between the end of my block or about a quarter mile. I was thinking that the fuel pump/injectors/filter were bad, but I thought that with the amount of misfiring, it would have thrown a check engine light.
I'm at a loss for what to look at. Anyone have suggestions?
Thanks!
