Hello all! Got me a Silver Metallic 2001 Limited 4WD and am lovin' it! Traded in a '97 Land Rover Discovery that I had for 5 years (worst built vehicle I've ever owned!). I just picked up the 4Runner last night from Carmax. She's got 116K miles on the odo and aside from some paint damage to the roof from th PO's aftermarket roof rack, she's in nice shape. I'm going to need lots of advice as time goes on, but I thought I'd get started with a simple question....
The colored beading that acts as a gasket between the flares and the body looks pretty grundgy, and doesn't appear like it will clean up very well. Can you order new pieces in the proper color or do you have to paint it? I'd like to freshen it up as it's the worst looking thing that's readily visible on the outside right now.
Too soon to post any pics as I haven't had time! I promise to take some this weekend and get them up. :biggrin2:

. Had a BUSY weekend with the fiance and future daughter. Thanks for the rubber flare molding link. That is what I'm talking about, just the color-matched kind. I'll try giving it a good cleaning first. Hopefully, they'll clean up good. I REALLY like my "new" truck. This was an upgrade (and I DO mean "upgrade"!) from a '97 Land Rover Discovery. That vehicle was definitely a "love-hate" relationship. So far, I'm really liking the 4Runner much better. I WILL take some pics in the next day or so. Stay tuned!
