Hey guys,

i recently got myself a 1995 4Runner 2WD.

the previous owner had put BFGoodrich AllTerrain KO tires on there(31.5x10.5 R 15 --something like that)

anyways the truck is really slow and gets crappy gas milege(200miles per tank) was wondering if this is caused by the tires?

on th edoor panel it says stock 225/75-15, is there a smaller size(same tire) that i can get to have the car run normal again, but at east have a slightly bigger looking tire on there that will perform good when i take it camping ?

BFG AT KO tires are really good all-arounder (on-road and off-road). They are tough as nails. However, they may be heavier (LT-rated) than other AT tires due to their HD construction. Their smaller sizes have 6-plies (Load Range C).

The REVOs in your STOCK size is P-rated, not LT-rated. Therefore, it will be lighter and thus, better for acceleration. However, they are not as tough as the BFG AT KO tires (REVO only has 4-plies due to their P-rating). REVOs are great for on-road handling/ride and wet traction...better than BFG AT KO. However, they are not as good off-road.

These are my two favorite AT tires. There are others...but probably not as good as these two.

so would a 235-75-15 dueler tires be good?
right now im raelly concerned about gas millege, so if i can get a close to normal size BFG AT KO i would perfer that over the duelers.

so my question, would the car go back to normal if i put 235-75-15 BFG's on there? right now its 30x10.5

If you want better mileage, then you need to go to STOCK size.

A bigger DIAMETER tire will affect acceleration/fuel economy the most.

not to state the obvious but if you're that worried about gas mileage you shouldn't be driving an SUV. and you definitely shouldn't have gotten an older SUV w/oversized tires! although I doubt the gas mileage is going to improve significantly w/slightly smaller tires, and the truck won't look as good

Oh yeah i forgot, the 2nd gen 4runners are widely known for their extremely poor fuel economy.

Just be glad that it uses REGULAR fuel.:yesyes:
