Just another newb sayin hi. I bought a 99 4Runner limited today. I was lookin at this rig and a 93 Land Cruiser both for the same $. I was leaning toward the LC as it had e-lockers but it turns out the runner has an e-locker in the rear. I'll get a LC someday but for now the better mileage and similar-ish capability of the runner won. I'm pretty psyched and I'm lookin forward to gettin out from under our blanket of snow to start finding my and the rigs limits.

Hi all! I also a new one here. You have a really nice car. Congrats! I'm actually thinking of buying some car from the 90s. Maybe you guys would suggest some?

Hey there, total newb here, but not to forums in general...

Since I have to post a number of times before I can start a thread, posting here.

Been a Toyota guy forever. Have had at least 7 or 8 pickup/Tacos over the years, but finally scored a sweet deal on a southern 4Runner with less than 100K on it.

1996 SR5, bought it ~5 years ago, got sick of paying for two insurance payments (have a recent VW TDI for fuel sipping reasons), tried to sell my favorite vehicle ever, all this past summer long.

Two complete sets of wheels/tires (summer with original PERFECT alloys) and steels with big meaty snows. Just did a timing belt, thing is in gorgeous shape.

Craigslist is crap. Sooooo many people wanted to beat me up on price before even seeing it, ugh.

Finally called Hagerty for the millionth time, and holy cow, they now offer classic coverage for my 'Yota, woo hoo!

I'm keeping it...

Just tossed on some OME suspension which added a 2" lift, very happy with that.

Really just trying to mine some collective knowledge, I'll ask here, but won't expect any answers, being this deep in the weeds as I am! :)

Wondering is anyone has suggestions for increasing my headlights "punch".

They work, but aren't as bright as I'd like.

Seen the LED replacements for inside the existing glass lenses, but my understanding is that they don't all work well, dim and bright setting wise.

Looked at some aftermarket, separate unit types, but they all mount in dumb places and look like crap. Huge light bars, or CNC boxy little cubes that mount on the hood, etc.

I don't want it to look like a 17 year old AutoZone employees fart pipe equipped Dodge Neon with every cheesy bolt on accessory known to man. I want a clean, factory type look.

Suggestions welcome!

I love this little tank!!
